Charlie Kirk's suspected killer Tyler Robinson

Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, once wanted to become a billionaire by the age of 25, according to a report of The Mirror.

Brought up in a Republican household in St. George, Utah Robinson’s childhood was filled with Sunday services, video games, comic books, and outdoor activities, the report added.

However, Robinson was transformed and radicalised, and "fuelled by a loathing of Kirk".

One of his classmates told the website that Robinson was an 'excellent student, a teacher's pet, respectful, hardworking, and smart'.

"He was the kind of student that any teacher wanted in his class. Respectful to peers, classmates, friends, adults, and authority figures," Jaida Funk, 22, told The Mirror.

Despite his political awareness, evidenced by early discussions about international events like the 2012 Benghazi attacks, Robinson kept his opinions private. He registered to vote but never cast a ballot and had no public political record. His family, staunch Republicans, cultivated a disciplined, patriotic lifestyle. Yet somewhere along the way, classmates say, Robinson became radicalized, developing a hatred for Kirk that he reportedly shared with relatives before the shooting.

A scholarship winner at Utah State University, Robinson left after a single semester and took up work as an apprentice electrician. There were no warning signs, no criminal record, no visible anger—just a bright, ambitious young man. Now, the boy who once dreamed of financial success faces a future defined by one of America’s most shocking political killings, leaving those who knew him struggling to reconcile the past with the present.

Bragged about long-range shooting skills

Meanwhile, according to a former coworker, Robinson once bragged about his long-range shooting skills. “Right after Black Friday, I had just got done working and I was showing my supervisor the new pistol I bought,” the coworker said. “We were out by the trucks, and then Tyler and another guy came over and we were all talking about what kinds of guns we were gonna get or had bought, and they started talking about their longest shots. Tyler said he made a 450-yard shot.”

Robinson faces expected charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Kirk, a 31-year-old married father of two and founder of Turning Point USA. Authorities say Kirk was struck by a single bullet fired from a rooftop about 200 yards away during his address on campus.
