The killing of Charlie Kirk, the conservative commentator at Utah Valley University, has brought Nicholas Joseph Fuentes (Nick Fuentes), an extreme far-right political commentator, into the spotlight. Born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1998, Fuentes is an antisemitic far-right leader. He dropped out of college and went on to build a presence on YouTube. He often expressed his most extreme views through humor and satire.
Fuentes, a critic of right-winger Kirk and an extreme far-right political commentator, has been controversy’s favorite child. He initially grabbed the attention of the people and the mainstream media when he dined with US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in November 2022 along with Kanye West.
After facing flak from other Republican Party leaders, Trump, according to media reports, revealed that before the meeting with Fuentes, he had no idea who he was.
Fuentes, who is known for his antisemitic commentary, has often praised Adolf Hitler and questioned whether the Holocaust happened, according to the Texas Tribune. The 25-year-old has called for a “holy war” against Jews and compared the 6 million killed by the Nazis to cookies being baked in an oven.
In one of the episodes of his show America First (AF), which started in 2017, he called for “Catholic Taliban rule” in the US, and he has been very vocal about his disapproval of women, the LGBTQ+ community, and others.
Holocaust is exaggerated
During a livestream episode in March 2023, Fuentes said, “I think the Holocaust is exaggerated. I don't hate Hitler. I think there's a Jewish conspiracy. I believe in race realism,” as quoted by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
Jews are in the way of the “sovereignty” of the US
During his livestream during President Trump’s inauguration in 2025, Fuentes made some remarks against Jews, which testify to his dislike towards them.
According to ADL, he had stated that he believes Jews are in the way of the “sovereignty” of the US, that they are the “most influential faction in our government,” and that Trump is “captured by this Israel lobby.”
Fuentes branded himself “the most canceled man in America”
Fuentes described himself as “the most canceled man in America” or “the most censored man alive.” He argued that his deplatforming from social media platforms and other services proves that he “challenges the status quo of the system” by “defending American identity and protesting mass migration.” According to ADL.
The extreme far-right political commentator has faced multiple suspensions from several social media, video, and audio sharing platforms, including YouTube, Twitter (reinstated in 2024), Reddit, TikTok, RedNote, DLive, Spotify, Venmo, Stripe, and Clubhouse, among others, for violating terms of policy with his hateful, bigoted rhetoric and imagery.
Besides social media platforms, Fuentes has also been deplatformed from most credit card processors, according to ADL. He blames Jews for it. After being deplatformed, he resorted to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin to accept donations and sell tickets to his events and merchandise.
Following the Capitol storming on January 6, 2021, Fuentes claimed his bank account had been frozen, he had been placed on the federal no-fly list (he was removed over a year later), and that he had been banned from Airbnb, Facebook, and Instagram. Fuentes described this as “overt political persecution.”
In one of the latest controversial remarks, Fuentes, on February 12, 2025, during a livestream denied the atrocities of Hamas’ October 7th terrorist attack on Israel. On the first anniversary of October 7, 2023, Fuentes said in a post on X that the attack was “staged” or used as a strategy to “justify Israel’s unfolding regional war” with Iran.
Ahead of the anniversary of the Hamas attack, Fuentes said that he believes Israel “allowed” and “participated” in the attack and “killed their own people.”
Charlie Kirk and Nick Fuentes feud
Fuentes has been a critic of Kirk, and the two had a long-simmering feud starting in 2019 when Fuentes's supporters disrupted Turning Point USA events. The social media speculations around the possible motive behind Kirk’s killing turned towards extremist factions that once targeted Kirk, including Fuentes' "Groyper Army," as the investigation continued days after the Wednesday shooting.
Several claims and theories on social media are now linking the shooting suspect identified as Tyler Robinson to Fuentes' 'Groyper' movement. The 22-year-old Utah man was arrested in the killing of Kirk, authorities said Friday (September 12, 2025). Amid the mounting heat on social media over Kirk’s killing, Fuentes reacted to the speculations in a series of posts over social media, calling the people from the left “pure evil.” In a post on X, he also criticized the mainstream media for “framing” him for the shooting with literally “zero” evidence.
“My followers and I are currently being framed for the murder of Charlie Kirk by the mainstream media based on literally zero evidence. After the Left gunned him down, they celebrated and justified it. They said I was next. Now they are blaming me. These people are pure evil,” Fuentes said.
In another X post, the extreme far-right political commentator said, “The Left is now shamelessly trying to blame the Right for the murder of Charlie Kirk which they have been openly celebrating & justifying for days. They have no charity, love, or humanity for any of us or our families. We must take power for our own survival. We win or we die.”
His followers have been nicknamed “groypers” after a cartoon frog that has become a meme in far-right online communities. 'Groypers' often accused Kirk of not being “pro-white” enough. “Groypers” would often try to access microphones during Q&A sessions to attack Kirk, who helped recruit younger voters to the GOP. He has fantasized about marrying a 16-year-old when he is older.
The real feud between Kirk and Fuentes surfaced during the 2019 "Groyper Wars," when his supporters, known as the "Groyper Army," disrupted Turning Point USA events, challenging Kirk on immigration and LGBTQ rights while labeling him a "gatekeeper" of establishment conservatism, according to Newsweek.
