New Delhi: The atmosphere at the Dubai International Stadium was hot as usual but this time there was something different. When Indias captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistans Salman Ali Agha entered the field a huge crowd of spectators welcomed them with great enthusiasm. But in this high-voltage Asia Cup match there was no traditional handshake between the two captains. Both the captains handed over the list of their teams to the umpire then headed straight to the dressing room after a brief conversation with commentator Ravi Shastri.
Suryakumar Yadavs decision: Not shaking hands was his own choice
According to media reports Suryakumar Yadav had already told the team on the morning of the match that he would not shake hands with the Pakistani captain. But he clarified that this was a personal choice and there was no pressure on the rest of the team members.
