Tourism activities in Bali, voted “Asia’s most beautiful island,” have not been impacted by the recent flooding, according to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.

Addressing the flooding’s impact on the tourism sector, Wardhana assured that there has been no significant effect on tourism activities, as reported by Antara News Agency.

She noted that no cancellations have been reported from either domestic or international visitors.

In a press release on Sunday, the ministry stated that Wardhana accompanied President Prabowo Subianto during his visit to Gajah Mada Street in Denpasar, one of the areas affected by the floods.

Bali remains open to tourists seeking a quality and sustainable travel experience.

“The important thing is that the government, including the Bali regional government, has worked hard to improve the situation. God willing, Bali is ready to welcome tourists,” Wardhana stated.

Last week, Indonesia’s National Disaster Management Agency declared a state of emergency in Bali due to the flooding, which has claimed at least 19 lives, The Jakarta Post reported.

Bali was named Asia’s most beautiful island at this year’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards by DestinAsian magazine.

The island welcomed 6.3 million international visitors in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. This year it aims to attract 6.5 million tourists.
