Karachi: Ahmad Shah, Pakistan’s popular child social media sensation, announced the unexpected death of his younger brother, Umer Shah, and his fans around the country are mourning.

The tragic news was broken by Ahmad Shah on his verified social media platforms. In a brief message, he stated, “Our family’s little star, Umer Shah, has gone to his Creator.” He further requested his supporters to pray for Umer’s forgiveness and patience for the mourning family.

Umer Shah, just like his older brother Ahmad, had become very popular for his sweet smile and playful demeanor. He was often seen with Ahmad in trending social media clips, as well as in TV shows, especially during Ramadan broadcasts. His smiling face and endearing nature made him a star among the audience, who fondly watched out for the brothers’ appearances.

On Monday morning, the news was posted also from Ahmad Shah’s official Facebook page, although no official cause of death was released. The message simply stated as confirmation of the loss, which soon attracted thousands of condolences and messages of support from fans and celebrities.

Of significance is the fact that Umer had undergone cataract surgery on his eyes last year in July. Yet, it is unknown if his death was due to any medical complications. Nothing more has so far been released by the family as far as the cause of his death.

The unexpected news shocked Ahmad Shah’s admirers and well-wishers all over Pakistan. Most of them made their sorrow visible on social media sites by posting about Umer’s bright nature and memorable experiences while giving interview on TV. Fans also sent their prayers to be strong and patient to Ahmad Shah’s family for this hard time.

Ahmad Shah initially gained popularity in 2019 for his cute face and catchphrases and became a viral hit. His younger brother Umer being regularly featured in videos further enhanced their popularity as a pair among online viewers. Umer’s untimely death has therefore hit an emotional note among millions who had become fond of the Shah brothers’ relationship.

The family is also expected to conduct funeral prayers in their hometown, with relatives, friends, and fans paying homage.
