Mumbai Police Investigates Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra

Mumbai: The Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police has taken statements from actress Shilpa Shetty and her spouse Raj Kundra regarding a fraud case involving ₹60 crores.


The police department provided an update, stating, "Investigations are ongoing against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra concerning an alleged fraud of ₹60 crores. A summons was issued by the Economic Offences Wing, requiring their presence for questioning."


They also confirmed that the couple's statements have been documented, and Raj Kundra is expected to return for further questioning next week.


Businessman Deepak Kothari has accused the couple of conspiring to defraud him of over ₹60 crores, claiming that funds intended for business growth from 2015 to 2023 were misused for personal expenditures.


In related news, Shilpa Shetty recently announced the closure of her restaurant, Bastian, located in Bandra.


However, she later clarified, "I am not shutting down Bastian, I assure you."


She expressed gratitude for the support, stating, "I have received numerous calls, and while I appreciate the love for Bastian, please don't turn this affection into something negative. Bastian is here to stay. We will continue to innovate our menu and are thrilled to introduce not one, but two new establishments."


The Sukhee actress revealed the launch of Ammakai and Bastian Beach Club, saying, "We are going back to my roots with Ammakai, offering authentic South Indian Mangalorean cuisine at our Bandra location and the Bastian Beach Club in Juhu. I can't wait for everyone to experience the new flavors of Bastian hospitality."
