Borderlands 4 is treating players to some swanky Twitch drops, despite some gamers reporting difficulties in claiming them – here's how you can secure the new skin and weapons.

It's time for more Borderlands action, and so far, players have been reporting that Borderlands 4 delivers just that. The latest instalment in the series is already showing itself to be quite similar to previous escapades, but for some players, that's exactly what they're after, even with new movement mechanics adding a bit of spice to the mix.

However, there are still a few kinks that need ironing out, as there are several Borderlands 4 player complaints that still need addressing, even though Gearbox development chief Randy Pickford suggests that grumbles about motion blur aren't the team's responsibility. It seems there's more frustration on the horizon, as what should be a straightforward process to unlock some free items has become rather tricky for players.

Many are reporting difficulties logging into their SHiFT accounts, which they need to access Borderlands 4 Twitch Drops (and, to some extent, the game itself), as reported by a . They're struggling to make the necessary account connections work – with little in the way of a solution so far.

It's proving very frustrating, with some players reporting issues with Twitch claiming that connected accounts aren't actually connected (via ), while others are simply keeping their fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

With Twitch Drops functioning as they should, you might be wondering how exactly to get involved? Here's the lowdown on the ongoing Borderlands 4 Twitch drops.

Borderlands 4 Twitch drops

There are three major Borderlands 4 Twitch drops for players to dive into, with all of them currently active for you to claim. They are as follows:

  • Friday, August 29 to Monday, Monday, September 29 – earn the Watch, Drop and Roll ECHO-4 Drone Skin by watching any livestream in the Borderlands 4 category on the Borderlands 4 or Gearbox Twitch channels for 20 minutes
  • Thursday, September 11 to Tuesday, September 30 – Watch any stream in the Borderlands 4 category for two hours for the Forsaken Chaos Legendary shotgun.
  • Thursday, September 11 to Tuesday, September 30 – Watch any Borderlands 4 Twitch stream from a partnered creator for two hours for the Midnight Defiance Legendary sniper rifle.
  • To kickstart these unlocks, you'll need to link your SHiFT account to your Twitch account. Once Twitch automatically recognises that you've completed progression with each item, you can claim the items at the top of your Twitch navigation. The items should be immediately available now that the game has launched. As for the weapons themselves, they'll adjust to your current in-game level.

There's optimism that the issues some players are experiencing with their Borderlands 4 Twitch drops will be sorted before they become unavailable, but there's a good chance they'll still work for you, so don't hesitate to dive in. After all, who can grumble about some free (big) guns?
