Pawan Kalyan is preparing for the launch of his new action-thriller film, 'OG', featuring Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi. The storyline revolves around a gangster named Ojas Gambheera, who returns to Mumbai after a decade to confront a rival crime lord, Omi Bhau. The film has already sparked significant anticipation, with impressive advance ticket sales reported in North America.
As of 8 AM on September 15, advance bookings in North America have surpassed $1.5 million, with over 52,000 tickets sold, indicating a strong opening weekend.
Produced by DVV Entertainment, 'OG' is expected to gain even more traction in the coming days, as pre-booking has commenced at AMC Cinemas. Industry analysts predict that pre-sales could exceed $2 million and potentially reach $2.5 million before the film's premiere. With ten days remaining until its release, the ongoing promotional efforts and trailer releases are keeping the film in the spotlight.
In addition to Pawan Kalyan and Emraan Hashmi, the cast includes Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Rao Ramesh, Sriya Reddy, Harish Uthaman, Abhimanyu Singh, Ajay Gosh, Saurav Lokesh, Vennela Kishore, and Akira Nandan.
Pawan Kalyan has indicated that he will be stepping back from acting due to his responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh starting June 2024. In a recent interview, he mentioned his intention to finish filming his projects before the elections, stating, 'When I signed these three films, I aimed to complete them before the elections. Unfortunately, I lost valuable time due to political events.'
Regarding 'OG' and his other films, he added, 'I have finished shooting for OG and have about five days left for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. I will not continue acting if it conflicts with my political duties, as my priority is the administration and the Janasena Party.'
Directed by Sujeeth and produced by D. V. V. Danayya under DVV Entertainment, 'OG' is set to hit theaters on September 25, 2025.
