While filming an action scene with Puneet Issar on the sets of Coolie Amitabh Bachchan became a victim of such an accident that brought him close to death. During the shooting of an action scene Puneet Issar had to punch Amitabh Bachchan in the stomach. But by mistake Puneet Issars punch hit Amitabh Bachchan so hard that he had to be admitted to the hospital and his life was in danger. Doctors had to perform surgery on him. Amitabh Bachchans life was saved but a mistake by the doctors during the surgery resulted in Hepatitis B. When Amitabh Bachchan was affected by Hepatitis B Actually due to this accident Amitabh Bachchan lost a lot of blood due to which he had to get a blood transfusion. A crowd of his fans had lined up outside the hospital to donate blood to him. One of these donors had Hepatitis B. While giving the blood transfusion the doctors made a mistake that in a hurry they also gave Big B the blood of a person infected with Hepatitis B due to which Amitabh Bachchan also got infected with this disease. Amitabh Bachchan came to know about this infection growing inside him after 18 years. When Amitabh Bachchan had a stomachache One day in 2018 Amitabh Bachchan had severe stomach pain after which he went to the doctor. When he was examined it was found that the problem was in his intestine. He underwent surgery for diverticulitis of small intestine. During this time it was found that he had a disease called liver cirrhosis which he got due to hepatitis B. This is a condition in which the liver gradually starts to deteriorate and the liver tissues stop working. Amitabh Bachchan is alive on 25 percent liver Due to hepatitis Amitabh Bachchans liver was damaged by 75 percent due to which he is now alive on only 25 percent of his liver. During the show itself he mentioned this entire incident and told how years ago due to a small mistake 75 percent of his liver got damaged and now he is alive on only 25 percent of his liver.
