Asia Cup 2025: A big news has come to light that the Indian cricket team has decided not to share the presentation platform with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi to reach the Asia Cup final and win the tournament. The final match of this tournament will be held on 28 September.
Being the ACC chairman, the Asia Cup Trophy is expected to be handed over by Naqvi, but the possibility of accepting the trophy by the Indian team is less likely. According to the news agency PTI report, “It has been revealed that if India makes its place in the final of the tournament on 28 September, the players will not share the presentation platform with Naqvi, who are going to hand over the winner trophy as ACC Chief.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday lodged a complaint with the ICC regarding the behavior of the match referee Andy Picroft, who has allegedly asked for not joining hands during the Toss of the Asia Cup Group A match. PCB wants Picroft to be removed from the post of referee from the Asia Cup.

Naqvi said in a social media post on Monday, “PCB has filed a complaint with the ICC in connection with the match referee to the ICC Code of Conduct and Cricket Affection, in connection with violation of the Marylibon Cricket Club (MCC) laws. PCB has demanded immediate removal of the match referee from the Asia Cup.” According to Cricbuzz, if he was not listened to, PCB has said that the tournament against UAE will withdraw from its next group match.
Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, after the team did not join hands with Pakistani players, Naqvi accused India of “dragging politics in the game”.
Naqvi posted on social media X, “Today there was a lot of disappointment to see the lack of sportsmanship. Drawing politics in the game is completely against the spirit of the game. Hopefully, all the teams will celebrate the victory ahead with decency.”
