EV ride-hailing startup Evera has expanded its B2C play by rolling out hourly rental service. The startup said that the new offering will facilitate users with flexible hourly rental packages, which can be booked for point A to point B travel as well as for the entire day.
Prior to this, Evera operated in the B2C space by offering airport-to-city and city-to-airport transfers.
Founded in 2019 by Nimish Trivedi, Rajeev Tiwari, and Vikas Bansal, Evera offers clean mobility services in both B2B and B2C segments. As part of its B2B service stack, Evera claims to offer advanced safety and management features, including admin dashboard, real-time employee cab tracking, and direct access to the customer care centre.
The startup also claims to have a no cancellation and no surge charge policy for its customers.
Evera’s expansion comes on the back of it recently raising $4 Mn from Mufin Green Financethrough a mix of convertible debentures and debt.
The startup claimed that its newest offering will help fill the market gap following BluSmart’s exit.
It is pertinent to note that Evera acquired nearly 220 EV cabs, which were previously operated by BluSmart, in May this year. Later, the startup completed acquisition of 280 more such cabs, taking the total number to 500, Evera founder Nimish Trivedi told Inc42.
Notably, following the shutdown of BluSmart due to capital crunch amid allegations of diversion of funds by its cofounders for personal use, several startups are looking to gain market share in the segment.
Last week, EV mobility startup Snap-E Cabs raised $2.5 Mn in a bridge round for product development, leasing more EV cars, and enhancing its operations in Delhi NCR.
The larger players in the segment are also looking to grow their EV fleet network. For instance, Uber India recently partnered with Chennai-based Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric cars across key Indian cities by 2026.
