It’s been three years since founding Try Guys member Ned Fulmer left the group following an affair with an employee. Ned quickly dropped out of the public spotlight, quit posting on Instagram, and was removed from Try Guys videos. “I feel ready to share my story and to move on into a new chapter,” Ned cited to People in his first interview since the 2022 cheating scandal,also adding, “For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet. I didn’t think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health.”

Reconciling Public Persona and Personal Actions

Fans found it challenging to reconcile the self-explained “Wife Guy” Ned with the man who had cheated on his wife, Ariel Fulmer, with an employee.Ned told People he sees that this was one of the causes for his affair to go viral, even inspiring a Saturday Night Live spoof of the Try Guys video revealing the news.

“I understand that’s why it was such a big scandal because it’s ironic and it feels like a rug pull to people,” he mentioned. “That must have been really painful and devastating to viewers.”

Marriage Recovery

The scandal was far more painful for his wife, Ariel, who had her own maintenance as part of the Try Guys. “That was most devastating to work through and to realize—how much pain I had caused her,” he mentioned. “If I were looking at a past version of myself, how I’d really want to change [is] the way I’d been interacting with her.”

Thanks to intensive couples counseling, Ned and Ariel are still together, and their marriage is “stronger than it was before” now.

Launching the Rock Bottom Podcast

Ned Fulmer is reentering the public limelight with his latest podcast, Rock Bottom. Ariel Fulmer will join him as the inaugural guest, and Ned cited their conversation as “brutal” but rewarding, focusing to “reestablish the context” of who he is now and satisfy followers.
