New Delhi: In a massive development Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata has reportedly explored the idea of a new leadership structure at Tata Sons. However before the plan was implemented some trustees registered their resistance a report by Mint said on September 15. The report further adds that the Noel Tata discussed a structure with separate positions of chairman chief executive officer and managing director (CEO and MD) and a deputy CEO for the Tata group holding company. However the idea could not move ahead as some of the trustees didn’t agree with the proposal the paper said. It is important to note that currently N Chandrasekaran is the chairman of Tata Sons. Moreover Noel Tata wanted Chandrasekaran to continue as the non-executive chairman following the end of his tenure in 2027 Mint said adding that trustees want a third term for Tata Sons chief. Noel Tata who replaced Ratan Tata as after his death leads Tata Trusts which has a majority stake in the holding company.
