Just before the Bihar Assembly elections, "good days" have arrived for the citizens of the state. The Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme was announced for women. Then, the Chief Minister's Pratigya Scheme was launched for the youth. The Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme for higher education was made interest-free. Now, today, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a major gift to laborers.

On the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja, ₹5,000 each was sent to the accounts of more than 1.6 million workers. CM Nitish himself tweeted this information. This money was received by laborers under the Clothing Assistance Scheme. The Chief Minister informed on social media that the money was transferred to the workers' accounts today under the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Today, funds under the Annual Clothing Assistance Scheme were transferred to the accounts of 1.64 million construction workers. A total of ₹802 crore 46 lakh 45 thousand has been transferred at the rate of ₹5,000 per worker.

What is the Clothing Assistance Scheme?
The Bihar government runs various schemes for registered laborers. Under the annual clothing assistance scheme run by the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, ₹5,000 is provided annually. This money is used by laborers to purchase uniforms.

Which laborers will receive ₹5,000?
Only those laborers who have registered with the Bihar Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board will benefit from this scheme.

How to Register

Construction workers between the ages of 18 and 60 can register.

At the time of application, they must provide a certificate of 90 days of prior work.

The employer/contractor/building construction workers' union/assistant labor commissioner/labor superintendent/labor enforcement officer will issue this certificate.

MNREGA workers can also register with the board.

A registration fee and 5 years' contribution will be required, which is very nominal.

How to avail the benefits of schemes
