New Delhi: Smriti Mandhana continued her remarkable scoring run in 2025 with yet another incredible knock in the second match of the women’s ODI series between India and Australia in Mullanpur, Punjab. Mandhana, who has been one of the most consistent performers in white-ball cricket in the world this year, brought up his 12th ODI century in just 77 balls, slamming the second-fastest century for India.

Mandhana also holds the record for the fastest century; she hit against Ireland in Rajkot off 70 balls earlier this year. With 12 hundreds, Mandhana is now joint third along with Tammy Beaumont in the list of most centuries in women’s ODI cricket. Meg Lanning (15) and Suzie Bates (13) sit i the top-two positions.

Mandhana paced her innings perfectly and mixed caution with aggression. The elegant left-hander played some delightful shots throughout his innings and hit 14 boundaries and four sixes. She was eventually dismissed by Tahlia McGrath in the 33rd over for 117 off 91 balls. She added 70 runs for the first wicket with Pratika Rawal, who played well for her 25 runs. Harleen Deol (17) and Harmanpreet Kaur (10), though, were dismissed cheaply.

Earlier, Australia skipper Alyssa Healy elected to bowl first after winning the toss in the second women’s ODI. Both teams made two changes to their playing XI, with India bringing in Arundhati Reddy and Renuka Singh in place of Jemimah Rodrigues and Shree Charani.

Meanwhile, Australia replaced Kim Garth and Phoebe Litchfield with Darcie Brown and Georgia Voll.

Australia are 1-0 up in the three-match series.
