Arun dhumal ipl chairman: India-Pakistan cricket relations have taken a new turn as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently filed a complaint against the match referee Andy Picroft after a dispute over joining hands during the Asia Cup match. PCB had requested the removal of Picroft, but the appeal was rejected by the International Cricket Council (ICC). However, on Wednesday, a middle path has been found by giving rest to Picroft for Pakistan’s match against UAE, which will decide who will move forward in Super 4 from the group.

The statement of the chairman of the IPL

The dispute started when Indian players did not consider joining hands with Pakistani players during the match on Sunday. PCB claimed that it is a violation of both ICC’s Code of Conduct and MCC cricket laws. Indian Premier League (IPL) president Arun Dhumal said that ICC will take into account any issue raised by Pakistan in relation to recent matches and if any negligence is taken, appropriate action will be taken.

Pakistan had threatened that if Pycroft is not removed from the post of match referee, it would be removed from the tournament. The final decision on his participation in the competition will be taken today. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said that the decision to avoid joining hands was taken from the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Government of India. This step was recently taken to show solidarity towards families affected by the Pahalgam terror attack.

Dhumal clarified that the Indian government has decided that bilateral matches will not be played between India and Pakistan, but the Indian teams will participate in multilateral and international tournaments. If the Pakistani team has to come to India for such tournaments, then the Government of India will issue a visa.
