There has been a new stir in politics before Bihar assembly elections 2025. LJP (Ram Vilas) President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has taken a big U-turn amidst the ongoing seat sharing in the NDA.
He clearly said that the upcoming elections will be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and he will once again become the Chief Minister of Bihar. Chirag clarified that he himself is not in the race for the post of Chief Minister and NDA will form the government this time by winning more than 225 seats.
Chirag Paswan said that whatever may be the desire of the workers, but the consent on the post of Chief Minister should be of the entire alliance. Regarding seat sharing, he said that he needs quality seats more than the number, so that the percentage of victory is better.
In his statement, he also targeted the Grand Alliance and said that internal differences would increase further during the election. He lashed out at Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav and said that he should worry about his politics instead of NDA.
This statement comes at a time when controversy over seats in NDA is increasing. Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has warned 15 to 20 seats and warned that if his demand is not met, he can contest 100 seats alone. At the same time, Chirag Paswan’s brother -in -law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti supported Chirag to make the Chief Minister’s face, demanding to contest elections in 43 to 137 seats.
However, Chirag separated himself from these claims and described Nitish Kumar as the face of the leadership. The situation in the Grand Alliance is also not easy. The Congress has demanded 70 seats, VIP wants 50 seats with the post of Deputy Chief Minister, while JMM is emphasizing on increasing its stake in Seemanchal and Santhal. Consent has not yet been reached to make Tejashwi Yadav a CM face. The discussion of internal sourness is fast and the seat sharing formula is still incomplete.
Political experts believe that this statement of Chirag is an attempt to reduce the internal tension in the NDA and to show the electoral strategy clean. He wants to strengthen his role between the coalition by emphasizing the quality of seats. At the same time, the news of increasing differences in the Grand Alliance has made the politics of Bihar more interesting.
