New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephone conversation with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership in areas such as trade, investment, energy, water management, food processing, and sustainable development. They reiterated their resolve to strengthen this partnership.
In addition, the two leaders discussed a peaceful and early resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Prime Minister Frederiksen expressed support for an early conclusion of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Prime Minister Modi wished Denmark success in its current presidency of the EU Council and its temporary membership of the United Nations Security Council.
In this conversation, the two leaders also discussed issues of regional and global importance. The PM reiterated India’s continued support for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict and the early restoration of peace and stability. At the same time, Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen reiterated Denmark’s firm support for the early completion of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement and the success of the AI Impact Summit hosted by India in 2026.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that both countries reiterated their firm commitment to further strengthen the Green Strategic Partnership. He said that today I had a very good conversation with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen. We reaffirmed our strong commitment to strengthen our Green Strategic Partnership and to conclude the India-EU Free Trade Agreement soon. Wished Denmark all the best for its Presidency of the EU Council. Our shared interest in ending the conflict in Ukraine soon was also discussed.
At the same time, according to the official account of the Prime Minister’s Office of Denmark, the two leaders exchanged views on global challenges. The post said that after talks with PM Modi, Prime Minister Frederiksen said that we reaffirmed the strength of our relations and green strategic partnership. Views were exchanged on global challenges. I emphasized the importance of cooperation and also stressed the need to deal with the global consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
