The monsoon, which is retreating from some parts of the country, has become active once again in Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, rain has become a disaster in many districts. Four people died and five were scorched due to lightning.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in eight districts, including Pratapgarh, Gonda, Sitapur, Barabanki, and Amethi. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in 30 districts, including Banda, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur.

Three people were struck by lightning during a downpour in Jaunpur district on Wednesday. Two teenagers were struck while playing. In Mirzapur, a woman collecting wood in the forest was struck by lightning during a heavy downpour.

Meanwhile, torrential rains in Ambedkar Nagar have caused waterlogging in many areas of the city. Akbarpur recorded 94 mm of rain, causing water to enter shops in the old city and markets, causing huge losses to traders. Aliganj Centre in Lucknow also recorded 88 mm of rain. Meanwhile, rivers in eastern Uttar Pradesh are flowing close to the danger mark. The Saryu River in Ayodhya is flowing above the danger mark, while the Rapti River in Gorakhpur and the Gandak River in Kushinagar have also reached above the warning point, increasing the risk of floods.

The weather varied from city to city. Prayagraj recorded a 2.5 degree Celsius increase in maximum temperature despite cloudy skies. According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rain are expected there for the next few days.
