Palash Muchhal, who is the boyfriend of Indian women’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, celebrated her 12th ODI hundred in Mullanpur on September 17. She reached the three-figure mark in the second ODI against Australia. He took to social media to share his happiness over the batter completing a new landmark. She took 76 balls, which is the second fastest for India in women’s one-day internationals.

Earlier, Australia captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and elected to bowl first. However, the decision proved wrong as Mandhana and Pratika Rawal added 70 runs in less than 15 overs.

While her opening partner was dismissed for 25, Mandhana accumulated 117 runs off 91 balls. India posted 292 and dismissed the Aussies for 190, with the home team registering a win by 102 runs.

Jemimah Rodriques has been ruled out of the remaining matches due to a fever and was replaced by Tejal Hasabnis. The third and final game of the series will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on September 20.

The Women in Blue will play two warm-up games before the 20225 ODI World Cup. The contest against England is on September 25, while the second game with New Zealand will take place on September 27. Both matches will be conducted at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. India will open their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on September 30.
