CTET Syllabus: A B.Ed. A degree is required to become a teacher, but a B.Ed. A degree alone is not sufficient. After completing a B.Ed., it is necessary to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). This national-level exam is called CTET, while TET is conducted at the state level. Now, the Supreme Court has made CTET or TET mandatory for teaching teachers as well. Therefore, it is certain that this year's CTET exam will be fiercely competitive.

Let's explore the CTET or TET syllabus, the marks required to pass, and which areas are crucial for increasing your scores.

How many marks are required to pass?
No cut-off list is released for the CTET. The minimum passing mark is simply achieved. General category candidates must score at least 60%, or 90 out of 150. Whereas, candidates belonging to OBC, SC, and ST categories must achieve 55% marks, or 82 out of 150. Candidates who achieve passing marks are considered CTET qualified.

CTET 2025 Syllabus and Exam Pattern
The CTET exam is conducted in two papers. The questions in each paper are multiple-choice type, and there is no negative marking. This means that answering every question is beneficial for candidates.

Paper I (Primary Level: Classes 1 to 5)
Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 marks

Language I: 30 marks

Language II: 30 marks

Mathematics: 30 marks

Environmental Studies: 30 marks

Paper II (Elementary Level: Classes 6 to 8)
Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 marks

Language I: 30 marks

Language II: 30 marks

Mathematics and Science (for Science/Math Teachers): 60 marks

Social Studies/Social Science (for SS Teachers): 60 marks

Sections that Help in Increasing Marks
When it comes to which sections help candidates advance, Child Development and Pedagogy play the most important role. This section not only forms the basis of the exam but also determines whether you have the vision and understanding to teach children.

In addition, Language I and Language II are also considered high-scoring sections. Candidates with a good grasp of these can easily rise to the top of the merit list. In Paper II, the Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science sections carry greater weightage, making it crucial to score well.

Smart Studying Is the Key
Studying alone isn't enough to prepare for the CTET; adopting the right strategy is crucial. First, understand the syllabus, then create a timetable and solve previous year papers. Identifying your weaknesses and working on them by taking as many mock tests as possible is the easiest way to pass this exam.
