The result confirmed India and Pakistan’s progression from Group A. Pakistan finished the group stage with 4 points from 3 games, while India topped the table with 4 points from 2 games and a superior net run rate. UAE and Oman were eliminated.
UAE’s chase ended at 105 in 17.4 overs. Rahul Chopra top-scored with 35, but Abrar Ahmed (2/13), Shaheen (2/16) and Haris Rauf (2/19) ensured a comfortable win for Pakistan.
The issue resurfaced before Pakistan’s match against UAE, delaying the start by an hour. Reports said the team only agreed to play after Pycroft apologised.
