Delhi Old Age Pension Scheme: Senior citizens in Delhi need not worry about financial constraints. The Delhi government has made special arrangements to take care of senior citizens living in the national capital. Under this pension scheme, poor and needy senior citizens previously received a monthly pension of ₹2,000 to ₹2,500. However, this amount has now been increased by ₹500 per month.
The Delhi government also opened 50,000 new registrations on September 17th, the occasion of PM Modi's birthday. 50,000 new pensioners in Delhi will now receive funds in their accounts. If you belong to a Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST), or minority community, you will receive an additional ₹500 per month from the Delhi government. This means that senior citizens in Delhi need not worry too much in their old age. Their daily needs are being taken care of by the government.
