What are the required qualifications?
In this new Home Guard recruitment, rural Home Guards must have passed the 7th grade from a recognized board. Candidates with Matriculation and 10th grade can apply for Urban Home Guards. Candidates must be permanent residents of Chatra district for rural and general urban Home Guard positions, and for urban Home Guard positions.
10th Pass Govt Jobs 2025: Home Guard Age Limit
Age Limit - Minimum age 19 years and maximum age 40 years as on January 1, 2025.
Height - Male candidates in the (General/OBC/BC) category must have a height of 162 cm, and those in the (Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste) category must have a height of 157 cm. Female candidates must have a height of up to 148 cm.
Chest - Male candidates must have a chest circumference of up to 79 cm. Reserved categories will receive a 3 cm relaxation.
Physical: 1-mile run, high jump, long jump, shot put
Selection Process: Physical Examination, Written Test, Technical Proficiency Test (for Urban Technical Skilled Home Guards only)

How will the physical be conducted?
Male candidates who complete the 1-mile run in 5 minutes or less will receive 20 points, and those who complete in 5 to 6 minutes will receive 10 points. Those who take longer than this will be disqualified. Female candidates will also be required to run a 1-mile run. Those who complete in less than 8 minutes will receive 20 points, and those who complete in more than 8 minutes will receive 10 points. Similarly, points have been determined for high jump, long jump, and shot put.
