It appears one Good Morning Britain presenter could be spotted on a different ITV programme after viewers have demanded they take on a somewhat altered role.

Host Ed Balls is frequently seen presenting the show alongside Susanna Reid, who was compelled to intervene this week following an on-air mishap.

Despite initially being a guest presenter back in 2021, Ed secured a permanent spot amongst the presenting team in 2022.

Nevertheless, it seems some fans reckon he possesses the credentials to become a This Morning personality as certain viewers have urged for him to appear as a guest during a cookery segment on the programme.

Posting on Instagram, the 58-year-old displayed his kitchen prowess for a Sunday roast as he beamed whilst holding a tray of chicken, reports Wales Online.

He wrote alongside the image: "Roast chicken carved in the tin with garlic, lemon and coriander - was excellent (and half gone before I took this pic!)

"It didn't feel like a Yorkshire Pudding day though... I made some gravy in the tin and put half in a boat and carved the chicken into the rest. With roast potatoes and air-fryed sprouts and asparagus, followed by a plum crumble with custard (Bird's). Proper Sunday cooking."

It wasn't long before followers flocked to the comments section to commend the meal, with numerous people eager to witness more of his talents on television.

One individual commented: "Ed you need to be a 'cookery guest' on This Morning!!"

Supporting this sentiment, another person added: "I 2nd this x" Another viewer chimed in: "Third this. Lovely to watch, achievable cooking that looks so yummy. Not that all chef cooking isn't."

A different fan remarked: "Absolutely need a cooking slot or a book Fed with Ed."

While another queried: "Sounds lush. Have you ever been on celeb masterchef?"

One person suggested: "Move over Jamie Oliver!" Another echoed: "Time you got a cooking programme."

Previously, Ed has expressed his love for cooking and baking, even baking a birthday cake for his co-star Susanna Reid in 2023, which was featured on the show.

Audiences have previously enjoyed watching Ed's culinary skills on TV when he participated in the 2016 edition of The Great Sport Relief Bake Off, alongside Victoria Coren Mitchell, Chris Kamara and Kimberley Walsh.

Unfortunately for Ed, he didn't clinch the title, which went to Kimberley Walsh. However, he did triumph in the first series of BBC's Celebrity Best Home Cook in February 2021.

Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.
