River, a Bengalurubased electric twowheeler manufacturer, has announced the launch of its 8year or 80,000kilometer extended warranty program for the battery and motor of its flagship electric scooter, the River Indie. By covering the two most critical components of an EV—the battery and the motor—River aims to provide its customers with longterm confidence, enhanced reliability, and peace of mind.

River Indie warranty

The extended warranty will be available from 1st October to all new bookings and existing customers. Additionally, customers who have previously opted for River’s 5year extended warranty can upgrade to the new 8year program within a limited onemonth window, further underlining River’s customerfirst approach.

The 8 Years/80,000 kms Extended Warranty ensures protection if the battery’s State of Health (SOH) drops below 70% or if the motor becomes nonfunctional even after repair. The plan is available to customers who have made a purchase since 1st April 2025 for Rs 8,399 + GST and customers with an existing 5year extended warranty for Rs 3,399 + GST.

Commenting on the announcement, Sachin Patial, Service Head said, “We are excited to introduce this extended warranty initiative, which underscores our strong confidence in River’s engineering and product quality. Today’s consumers value longterm trust and dependability, and with this 8year warranty covering both the battery and motor, we aim to go beyond expectations by reinforcing our promise of durable and dependable mobility solutions.”

This initiative has been carefully designed to strengthen River’s commitment to providing longterm value, brand reliability, and riderfirst solutions. By offering one of the longest and most comprehensive warranties in the EV twowheeler industry, River reaffirms its promise of delivering products and services that truly cater to consumer needs.
