Deepika Padukone will no longer be part of the sequel to Kalki 2898 Ad, the makers made official announcements. This news saw both disappointment and curiosity in the fans.

Recently released Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani starrer Kalki 2898 AD created panic at the box office. The film received a lot of love from the audience and it grossed the worldwide 1180 crores.
After the great success of the film, there was tremendous enthusiasm among the fans about its sequel. But now a disappointing news has come for Deepika Padukone’s fans. The producers of the film have officially announced that Deepika Kalki will not be part of the sequel of 2898 AD. After this news, various reactions are being seen on social media.
Production house Vyjayanthi Movies gave this information by sharing a post on social media platform x (first Twitter). The post wrote, “It is the official announcement that Deepika Padukone will no longer be a part of the sequel of Kalki 2898 Ad. After intensive deliberations we have decided to separate. Despite the long journey to make the first film, we are not able to share the right partnership. Such a film needs full dedication. We wish Deepika for their future projects.”
It is like a double shock for Deepika Padukone’s fans. Earlier, she was also out of Prabhas’s own big budget film Spirit. According to reports, Deepika had placed some conditions to that project, such as 8 hours of workdown, share in the film’s profit, request not to speak dialogues in Telugu.
The makers did not like these conditions and finally Tripathi Dimri was cast in that film instead of Deepika. Now his exit from the sequel of Kalki 2898 Ad has become even more disappointing for his fans.
As soon as the posts of the makers came out, there was a flood of reactions of fans on social media. Many people are surprised why Deepika left such a big film. One user wrote, “After Spirit, now Deepika is out of another big budget film. What is the real reason?” The other commented, “Who will replace his role now?”
At the same time, some people also looked happy. One user wrote, “Well, he is not, there was no emotion in his scene. Even Mrinal Thakur performed better in a small role.” Some fans also suggested the names of the new actress. If someone took the name of kerthy suresh, then someone called Kalyani Priyadarshan as perfect fit.
Kalki 2898 AD was released on 27 June 2024 and its visual effects and storylines won the hearts of the audience. The budget of the film was Rs 600 crore and it made the worldwide collection Rs 1180 crore.
After Deepika is out, now the makers have a big challenge in front of which actress should be cast for her character. Fans believe that sequel’s storylines and visuals have to be made more powerful than before, especially when the first film has achieved such a huge success.
