Maruti Suzuki GST Price Cut: The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has today announced a massive cut in the prices of its vehicle portfolio. The company said that the price of popular small cars like Alto, WagonR, Ignis has been cut by up to Rs 1.29 lakh. These new prices will be applicable from September 22, which will benefit customers directly from GST reforms.
Maruti Suzuki has emphasized that there has been no change in the features and technology of cars due to reduction in prices. The company’s Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Partho Banerjee said in a press conference that the price cuts of cars have been made under recently implemented GST reforms and customers will take direct advantage of it.
After this new price update, now Alto’s 10 Maruti Suzuki’s cheapest car is no longer. Maruti S-Presso has now become the most affordable model in the company’s portfolio. The price of this car has been cut by a maximum of Rs 1,29,600.
Swift: After a cut of Rs 84,600, its initial price is now Rs 5.79 lakh.
Baleno: Cut up to Rs 86,100, new starting price Rs 5.99 lakh.
Maruti Dzire: A new starting price with a reduction of Rs 87,700, Rs 6.26 lakh.
Fronx SUV: 1,12,600 deduction, new starting price 6.85 lakh rupees.
Brezza: Cut up to Rs 1,12,700, new price 8.26 lakh rupees.
Ertiga MPV: Rs 46,400 cut, new price 8.80 lakh rupees.
XL6: A new price with a savings of Rs 52,000, Rs 11.52 lakh.
EECO VAN: reduced by Rs 68,000 to now available for Rs 5.18 lakh.
In the recent GST Council meeting, it was decided that now there will be only two main GST slabs in the country – 5% and 18%. Petrol cars up to 1,200 cc with length less than 4,000 mm and diesel cars up to 1,500 cc will have only 18% GST. Earlier, 28% GST was used on these.
At the same time, 4 meters long and luxury cars will now have 40% GST, while earlier with 28% GST and about 22% cess, the total tax was made about 50%. This new system will also reduce the prices of luxury cars.
