Sweden’s new Health Minister Elisabeth LAN fell on stage

Low Blood Sugar: The video of Sweden’s new Health Minister Elisabet Lan falling on stage in the first press conference has gone viral. Lan, who fainted due to low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), confirmed it himself. This incident not only raises questions on their health, but also highlights the dangers of low sugar level, which can prove to be fatal.

What happened in the press conference?

On 9 September, Elisabet Lan, who was handling the new Health Ministry during a government press conference in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, suddenly fell on the stage. This was the first day of his appointment. In the video footage, the LAN gradually bowed forward as soon as the LAN spoke a few words and fainted on the floor, dropping the podium. Prime Minister Ulf Crystarson, Deputy Prime Minister Abba Bush and other officials, who were present on the stage, ran for immediate assistance.

Abba Bush helped him by bringing him to the recovery position, while the people present in the room were screaming to call an ambulance. LAN was immediately taken out, but she returned a few minutes later. He told reporters- ‘This was not a normal Tuesday. This can happen when there is a low blood sugar drop. The Q&A session of the press conference was canceled. According to local media, LAN did not suffer any serious injury and did not confirm medical aid. This video became increasingly viral on social media, which was seen by millions of people.

Who is Elisabet Lan?

Elisabet Lan is a member of the Christian Democrats Party and has been a former counselor of Gothenburg Municipal Corporation. She is known for working on social welfare and health policies. On 8 September, LAN was given the responsibility to LAN after a sudden resignation of former Health Minister Ekkar Akarberg Johansson. His appointment was considered important to handle the challenges of Sweden’s health sector – long waiting lists and staff lack in hospitals. This incident made his first day in the headlines, but LAN said with humor that it was not “normal”.

What is low blood sugar?

Low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia occurs when the glucose level in the blood goes below normal. This is common in diabetes patients, especially in people with type 1 diabetes, but also in non-diobleds can cause stress, starvation or side effects of drugs.

The main reason:

  • Insulin
  • Diet
  • insanity workout
  • Stress or disease

symptoms:

  • Dizziness
  • Shiver
  • Headache, irritability
  • Fainting or seizure in severe cases

This incident of Sweden reminded many people besides LAN that low sugar is not a mild problem.

Learn how dangerous the sugar level

The normal blood sugar level is 70-140 mg/DL (3.9-7.8 mmol/l). Low sugar is believed to be below 70 mg/dl. But the danger increases when the level is reduced by 54 mg/dl (3 mmol/l) – this level is so dangerous that the person is unable to treat himself.

If the situation becomes serious, then in such cases, the brain may not get energy or permanent damage. According to the Diabetes Association, the risk of death from untreated low sugar increases by 10%. LAN’s case was light, but it is a warning that forgetting food in stressful days (like new responsibility) can prove fatal.

According to doctors, you can take many measures to avoid low sugar…
