Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar has denied claims that her upcoming reality show Lazawal Ishq is a dating show. She called such reports misleading and baseless.

In an exclusive interview, Ayesha Omar said the criticism on social media is based on misunderstandings. She added that some media platforms have exaggerated the story.

She said, “Various comments and speculations suggest that I called it a Pakistani dating show, but that is absolutely not true. I have never referred to the show as a dating show.”

Ayesha emphasized that the show is not modeled after Western dating formats like Love Island. She said it is a platform where young people can get to know each other and find a compatible life partner.

The participants will stay in a luxurious villa. All arrangements follow Pakistani social and cultural values. The show was originally filmed in Turkey. It has been adapted into Urdu for Pakistani audiences. Male and female participants will have separate floors and rooms. Only shared spaces like the lounge, kitchen, and poolside will allow them to interact.

She explained that similar shows have aired in Pakistan before. Participants stayed in the same location but had separate living arrangements. Lazawal Ishq is intended as a social experiment. It will focus on conversation and interaction rather than romance.

Ayesha said there are no pre-made couples on the show. Participants will not be pressured into forming relationships. Any connection will develop naturally through mutual understanding. The challenges and games will also focus on communication.

The show will feature around 100 episodes. Four men and four women will live in the villa. They will face various challenges, emotional ups and downs, and conflicts. At the end, a “winning couple” will be selected.

The teaser shows the participants enjoying beautiful views and entering the luxurious villa. Ayesha described the show as a “journey in search of eternal love and emotional trials.”

The teaser triggered criticism and calls for a boycott on social media. However, Pakistan’s media regulator PEMRA clarified that the show cannot be banned because it will only be streamed online.

Lazawal Ishq will be released exclusively on YouTube. No TV channel broadcast has been announced yet.
