Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday outlined the major reforms introduced by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) through its new ‘Passbook Lite’ facility on the member portal. The feature now available on EPFO’s member portal is designed to improve user experience by consolidating major services under a single login including easy access to PF passbooks. What Are Changes On EPFO Passbook? As per reform under this initiative is that members can now directly download Annexure K as a Transfer Certificate generated during job changes and from the portal in PDF format. This certificate was shared only between PF offices and made available to employees only on request.  The change now gives more transparency to members so that they can track transfer applications and confirm that their PF balance and service period are updated accurately and maintain a permanent digital record for future use especially for EPS (Employees’ Pension Scheme) calculations. EPFO Lite Passbook Benefits In another transformative step EPFO has streamlined its approval process for member services. Earlier PF transfers settlements advances refunds and related services required multiple approvals from senior officers (RPFC/Officer-in-Charge) and used to cause delays. Now these rights have been delegated to Assistant PF Commissioners and subordinate officers under a structured hierarchy. The reform is expected to: Speed up claim settlements and reduce processing times Simplify approval layers for smoother service delivery Strengthen accountability at the field office level Enhance transparency and improve member satisfaction with quicker seamless services.
