The entire music industry and millions of fans across India are in deep shock as celebrated Assamese singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg has passed away. His sudden demise happened after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. Known for his magical voice and contribution to both Assamese and Bollywood music his death has left an irreplaceable void. However whats leaving his fans even more shocked and difficult to digest is his post just a day before his demise.
Zubeen Gargs Last Post
Just a day before the tragedy Zubeen had taken to his social media and shared a heartfelt video inviting his fans to the North East India Festival in Singapore where he was scheduled to perform today the same day he passed away. His words and warmth are now painfully frozen in time.
In the post he said “Friends in Singapore I will like to invite you to 4th North East India Festival in Suntec Singapore during 20th and 21st September. Come and explore the exotic part of India we are carrying quality agricraft products tea experience dance forms fashion shows and evening musical show presenting Rock bands rappers from India’s North East. I will be there throughout the festival as a cultural brand ambassador and will perform on the 20th evening with my popular Hindi Bengali and Assamese songs. I would like to invite you all it will be Saturday and Sunday and entry is free. All come and support us. Cheers!

Reason for Zubeen Gargs Death
As per reports Zubeen met a tragic accident and fell into the sea. He was rescued by the police and rushed to the nearby hospital. However despite immediate medical support Zubeen could not be saved. This news has left his fans shocked. From his contribution in Bollywood especially his hit track Ya Ali from the film Gangster to being celebrated as a cultural stalwart in Asaam Zubeen was loved and appreciated by millions.
Condolences from Celebrities and Politicians
From celebrities to politicians everyone is in shock and has been sending their heartfelt condolences. Politician Ripun Bora mourned him writing on social media:
“Deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely demise of our cultural icon Zubeen Garg. His voice music and indomitable spirit inspired generations across Assam and beyond. My heartfelt condolences to his family fans and loved ones. Rest in peace Legend #ZubeenGarg.”
Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid tribute saying “Today Assam lost one of its favourite sons. I am at a loss for words to describe what Zubeen meant for Assam. He has gone too early; this was not the right age to go. Zubeen’s voice had an unmatched ability to energise people and his music spoke directly to our minds and souls. He has left a void that will never be filled. Our future generations will remember him as a stalwart of Assam’s culture and his works will inspire many more talented artists in the days and years to come.”
Besides his songs that touched many hearts Zubeen was a multi-instrumentalist mastering over 12 instruments and performing in more than 40 languages. His legacy is not just of music but of inspiration love and cultural pride.
While Zubeen is no more in the world today his voice and spirit will echo across generations.
