Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has said that the men's T20I squad at Asia Cup 2025 had a lot to learn from India women's middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues. Rodrigues is counted amongst India’s key batting assets. She will shortly be representing the Women in Blue at the upcoming Women's World Cup.

Suryakumar remarked that now that the Super Four stage is round the corner, they will all like to recreate Jemimah's outings for the team during crunch situations in high-pressure matches.

“I think we also get to learn a lot from her. During big, pressure games, she has delivered, something we all want to adapt and replicate. For Jemi, the best thing about her is, ‘Chhota packet, bada dhamaaka’. She just needs to continue doing what she’s been doing, and I really enjoy watching her play," stated Suryakumar, while speaking on JioHotstar's show 'Champions Wali Baat: Believe in Blue'.

Suryakumar said that he was happy to see someone from the same home city (Mumbai) make it big for the state as well as the nation. He also credited Jemimah's ability to lift the team up on the field as well as being a supportive cricketer to fellow colleagues.

“It’s always good to see someone from your home city who has played so many local games, represent the state, and then gone on to play for India. Not just in World Cups, but also in bilateral series. Jemimah has always been a great performer. Playing the World Cup is a huge opportunity, and I’m sure she will deliver because she’s a great teammate, always helping everyone around. As we all have seen, she brings amazing energy to the ground as well," he added.

India Women will kickstart the eight-team tournament with a clash against co-hosts Sri Lanka. The tournament will be hosted in India and Sri Lanka. She was recently ruled out of the remainder of the three-match ODI series against the Australians due to fever after appearing in the series-opening clash.
