David Beckham is set to share the screen with other iconic athletes in a new documentary exploring a legendary sportswear feud.

Disney+ has just dropped a trailer for its upcoming docuseries, Sneaker Wars: Adidas V Puma, which showcases Beckham alongside other celebrated sportsmen.

Launching on Wednesday, September 24th, the three-part documentary delves into the family dispute woven into Adidas and Puma's origins.

The official synopsis reveals: "Sneaker Wars: Adidas V Puma offers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the fierce, decades-long rivalry between two global sportswear giants, born from a family feud.

"Brothers Adi and Rudi Dassler founded Adidas and Puma, turning their personal conflict into a battle for dominance in the athletic world," reports the Mirror.

Disney+ continues: "Featuring top athletes, 'sneakerhead' experts, and brand insiders including David Beckham, Usain Bolt, Neymar and more, the series charts the origins of the Dassler split, their innovative contributions to sports culture, the defining moments in the global fashion industry, and the ongoing legacy of two brothers whose rivalry changed the game forever."

Despite the German-born sports brands achieving worldwide recognition, audiences may be unaware of the reality behind the siblings who established them.

Sneaker Wars explores everything from how the brand titles were conceived to their notorious partnerships, including rapper Kanye West's alliance with Adidas.

The likes of Olympic champion Usain Bolt, who was a long-time partner with Puma throughout his record-breaking career, provide further insight into the brands' silent competition.

Viewers can also look forward to hearing from young Olympic sensation Noah Lyles, popular content creator Craig Mitch and other members of the public.

Sneaker Wars is a product of American production company Matador Content, and the Emmy award-winning Studio 99.

Beckham's appearance in the Disney docuseries will be released just weeks before his wife Victoria's new self-titled Netflix series.

Set to debut on October 9th, the three-part show traces the popstar's life from her early years to her rise to stardom, and the public scrutiny that followed.

Her husband features in the highly anticipated documentary, alongside A-list celebrities such as Tom Ford, Roland Mouret, Anna Wintour and Eva Longoria, to name but a few.

Sneaker Wars: Adidas v. Puma lands on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 24th.
