Zubeen Garg passes away at 52: From Pritam, Vishal Dadlani to Badshah, actors and musicians mourn the demise of the 'Ya Ali' singer

Bollywood and Assamese singer Zubeen Garg passed away after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. The vocalist was in the country to attend the Northeast India Festival . He was 52.
As soon as his death surfaced on the internet, Bollywood celebrities took to their social media accounts to express their grief. Here's what they posted.

Actor Adil Hussain shared a post on his X handle (previously Twitter) that read, "Devastated and shocked by the news of Zubeen Garg's sudden death in an accident in Singapore. I am so very sad... His contribution to Assamese music and culture is extraordinary..."
Composer Pritam worked with Zubeen on the song 'Ya Ali', which shot the latter to fame. He posted, "Zubeen Garg losing his life in an accident is just the most terrible and saddest news. Still trying to come to terms with it. My deepest condolences to Garima and his family. Om Shanti."
Vishal Dadlani took to his Instagram Stories and added, "I can't believe this. My brain is in shock, my heart is shattered! #ZubeenGarg has left a void I don't think anyone else can ever fill. He was a true megastar, a man of his people, a true lover of Assam, loved by fans to a level where their pain today is just unimaginable."
The post further read, "My deepest condolences to his family and to everyone who was touched by this larger-than-life legend. If anyone really LIVED Rock and Roll, it was Zubeen."
Armaan Malik shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) that read, "I am devastated and in disbelief. May his soul rest in peace.. #ZubeenGarg."
Singer Vishal Mishra shared, "Om Shanti."
Sharing Zubeen's picture, singer Papon wrote, "This is so shocking! The voice of a generation! Gone too soon. At a loss of words! Lost a friend. Lost a brother. A big void. Praying for a peaceful journey of his soul."
Singer Jubin Nautiyal paid a tribute to the late singer in his post that read, "Zubeen Garg ~ ( 18.11.1972 - 19. 09. 2025 ) Your music will echo in our hearts forever, A true talent gone too soon. Rest in peace. Condolences to the family. Shiv shiv shiv."
Badshah revealed that though he never met the late singer, he "heard his stories." He posted, "Never met him. Heard his songs. Heard his stories. Never knew it would hurt so much. Rest in peace. ZubeenDa."
More about Zubeen Garg's demise
According to the PTI report, he was rushed to the Singapore General Hospital after the accident; however, he had taken his last breath before reaching for treatment. The reports stated that the CPR attempts failed. Reportedly, his mortal remains will be sent for an autopsy. After that, his remains will be brought back to Assam, India, by tonight or tomorrow.
