What is sutak and leaf?
Rules have been set for every auspicious and inauspicious work in Hinduism. These rules include the concept of sutak and patak. Both of them belong to the events related to life and death and they directly affect the religious functions and purity of the family. It has been clearly stated in the scriptures that as long as the sutak or patak goes, worship, yajna, havan, marriage or other Mars are considered taboo. But there is a difference between the two and their duration is also stated separately.
Sutak is also called birth defects. When a baby is born in a house, the whole family is sustained. The reason for this is that both mother and baby are considered unclean at birth. At the same time, the period before the eclipse is also called Sutak Kaal.
According to Manusmriti and theology, 10 days in Brahmins, 12 days in Kshatriyas, 15 days in Vaishya and 30 days in Shudras are considered sutak. In modern times, sutak is generally kept for 11 days. During this period, family members do not go to the temple, stay away from worship and manglic works.
Patak is called death defect. When someone dies in a family or gotra, then it seems to be a legend. The entire atmosphere after death is considered mournful and impure, so religious and social auspicious works are completely prohibited during this period.
According to the scriptures, Patak runs for 10 days after death. During this time, the people of the house do not worship, any kind of Mars work is completely forbidden. On the eleventh day, the patron ends after purification and bathing.
Sutak seems to be on birth, while Patak Death. The duration of sutak can change according to caste and tradition, but Patak is usually 10 days. There is a purification of new life in the sutak, while inaccuracy in Patak is inaccurate.
The scriptures believe that in both birth and death, special types of bacteria and impurities spread in the atmosphere, hence the process of purification is adopted by keeping the family away from religious works for a few days. This is the reason that marriage, home entry, havan or any auspicious work in Hinduism are not done during the period of Sutak and Patak. They have also been considered as a medium to understand the deep mysteries of life and death, not only inaccurate.
