Fans of the acclaimed reality competition series The Traitors have been eagerly anticipating the celebrity edition for some time now.
The wait has been agonising for many, with no clear indication of when it would finally grace our screens.
However, the broadcaster has at last revealed the premiere date for this unique season.
In addition to this, we've been treated to a sneak peek of the contestants gathered around the Round Table.
They are accompanied by host Claudia Winkleman who informs them that their 'glamourous lives count for nothing here' and that 'most of you will be murdered'.
The celebrities attempt to maintain their composure as they gear up to play the ultimate game of detection, betrayal and trust. But when does The Celebrity Traitors kick off?

When does Celebrity Traitors start and when will new episodes be released?
The BBC is making a few minor adjustments for the inaugural celebrity edition of The Traitors. However, it's certainly not all doom and gloom for viewers as the first episode will be slightly longer than usual, reports Wales Online.
The Celebrity Traitors will debut on Wednesday, October 8 at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer with a 70-minute episode. Episodes will be broadcast two nights a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, at 9pm.
This differs from the civilian version which would air three times a week.
The series is set to comprise nine episodes, each lasting 60 minutes. The grand finale is slated to air on November 5.
Who are the celebrities participating in Celebrity Traitors and what's at stake?
A star-studded line-up of more than a dozen famous faces has been confirmed for Celebrity Traitors. It remains to be seen which of the 19 will be Faithful, and how many will be branded as Traitors.
The participants hail from various fields including comedy, film, television, music, sport and more. They will be vying for a cash prize of up to £100,000, which will go to a charity of their choice.

For fans who can't get enough of The Traitors, the show's companion video podcast is also making a comeback for the celebrity version. Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will air on BBC Two immediately after the main series and will also be available on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.
Host Ed Gamble is back to present and will be joined by the celebrities and players from previous series to dissect and react to developments in the castle.
When is The Traitors returning?
The BBC have confirmed that the fourth series of the usual Traitors series is set to return sometime in 2026. Not only this but a fifth instalment is also in the pipeline and applications for participants are currently open.
