If you’ve ever watched a recipe or workout on Instagram and then been told to “check my profile for Part 2″, you’ll know how annoying it is.

You tap through, scroll endlessly, and hope you’ve landed on the right clip. By then, the moment is gone.

Instagram has finally fixed that. Its new feature, Linked Reels, lets creators join clips together so that they play in order, like chapters of a story. Instead of losing the thread, viewers now see a small ‘Watch Part 2’ button at the bottom of the video. One tap and you’re straight into the next part.

“We’re excited to announce that you can now link Reels on Instagram to make it easier for creators to organise their content and help viewers follow along and discover more of your Reels!” Instagram said in an announcement.

Why creators (and viewers) will love it

The update itself is simple. When you upload a new Reel, you’ll see an option to link a Reel. Pick the video you want it connected to, publish, and Instagram does the rest.

You can even go back to older clips, tap the three-dot menu, select the ‘Link a Reel’ option, and tie them together. Suddenly, a set of scattered posts becomes a smooth sequence.

For creators, it means people watch for longer, stories can be told in parts, and content doesn’t get buried after one post. Think of a three-step recipe that now runs seamlessly, or a travel diary that unfolds day-by-day.

For viewers, it makes Instagram feel easier and more natural. No more breaking the flow to scroll around a profile. You can just follow the journey in order.

It may look like a small tweak, but it shows where Instagram is heading: Reels are moving beyond one-off bursts of entertainment.

With Linked Reels, Instagram is encouraging creators to build episodes, tutorials and campaigns that unfold over time. It also keeps the platform competitive with YouTube Shorts, which already thrives on binge-friendly, connected viewing.

With one simple change, Instagram has made Reels easier to follow and far more enjoyable to watch.
