‘Bads of Bollywood’ Ferrari crash goes real, speeding Lamborghini crashes on Mumbai’s coastal road – watch video

Synopsis

A Lamborghini Huracan crashed on Mumbai's coastal road. The driver, Atish Shah, lost control due to wet roads. He has been charged with rash driving. The car suffered extensive front-end damage. Police are investigating for technical faults. In a similar incident in Delhi, a BMW hit a two-wheeler, resulting in a fatality. The accused's bail hearing is pending.

Gautam Singhania, Managing Director of Raymond Ltd, shared the video of an orange Lamborghini Huracán crashing into a divider on Mumbai’s coastal road on Sunday has gone viral online. The incident has drawn comparisons to a scene from the recently released film The Bads of Bollywood, in which Bobby Deol’s character crashes a pink Ferrari during a high-speed race.

An official told PTI on Monday that the driver of the car was unhurt in the crash. The car was being driven by 52 year old Atish Shah who lost control of his sportscar as the roads were wet due to rains. The Nepean Sea Road resident has been charged with a case of rash driving. He was on his way to Colaba in south Mumbai when the crash took place.

The crash led to extensive damages to the front end and was later towed from the road. The official told PTI that the Worli police have sent the car to the Regional Transport office for inspection to check whether there is any technical fault.




The Coastal Road currently starts at Princess flyover in Marine Drive and ends at Worli with further plans for expansion. The speed limit on the road is 80 kmph on straight stretches of the road.

In a similar incident that took place in Delhi earlier this BMW driver lost control of her which struck a two wheeler leading to the death of 57 year old finance ministry official. The wife of the victim has accused the BMW driver of taking them to a small private hospital far away from the spot leading to the death of her husband who had suffered serious head and leg injuries from the accident.

The bail of the main accused, Gaganpreet Kaur has been put off till Wednesday by a Delhi court.
