Sky News guest Ryan Williams branded Muslims terrorists and told viewers he had stuck bacon onto the shoulders of his white shirt to protect himself from alleged threats of beheading before being cut from the show. Host Freya Leach was lost for words as Williams told Sky Australia viewers: "Well, the reason I've got bacon on my shoulders is because the terrorists are a charming lot and they threaten to behead me every single day, so it's a little bit of protection.
"But, I've got to say, you know, I'm from the UK. We have a threat nearly every single day from an Islamic invasion. Our second biggest city, Birmingham, is already majority Muslim. Our Mayor of London is Muslim, and the new Home Secretary is Muslim. And I just have a very clear, simple message to Muslims."
Williams' comment then became extremely offensive, and he was pulled from the live broadcast before the host was forced to apologise for his remarks.
She directly told viewers: "We do have to apologise for what was just aired. Those comments earlier, but we are going to continue now..."
Williams, who was introduced as a "social media sensation," spoke on Freya Fires Up on Sunday night. This is a new show on Sky News Australia, owned by News Corp Australia.
A spokesperson for the programme said the team took "immediate action during the live broadcast to cut off the guest", and the host apologised to viewers.
They added: "The content was not republished on any of our platforms.
"We recognise the harm such rhetoric can cause and take full responsibility for this failure in our editorial processes."
Despite not being shared on Sky's social media, the post has been causing a stir online. British anti-Islam campaigner Tommy Robinson even branded Williams a "hero" in light of his thousands of followers.
Williams even replied to the far-right Robinson by calling him a "hero" in return before claiming he will "fight Island to the very end" in another offensive post.
