Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar will join County Championship side Surrey for its final match of the season against Hampshire.
In a statement on the club’s website, director of cricket Alec Stewart said that the club had initially planned to bring back R. Sai Kishore, who took eleven wickets in two matches in his stint at the club, but a finger injury and subsequent surgery meant that he was unavailable.
“I’m excited to join Surrey for this week’s match. I’m coming here to have an impact and help the team in their final match of the season,” Chahar said after joining.
The 26-year-old, who currently plays for Rajasthan, has played in 24 First Class matches and taken 87 wickets at an average of 28.01.
Chahar is likely to come up against fellow Indian spinner Washington Sundar, who is currently playing for Hampshire. The match is scheduled to take place between September 24 and 27.
