The latest episode of Jinn Ki Shaadi Unki Shaadi, a Pakistani horror-comedy drama, has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Fans praised the concept but criticized the visual effects.
The show airs on HUM TV and stars Wahaj Ali, Sehar Khan, Arsalan Naseer, and Romaisa Khan. It is written by Syed Nabeel and directed by Saif e Hasan.
One scene caught widespread attention. A character emits black smoke and splits into two, revealing another person inside him. Many viewers found it unrealistic.
One social media user wrote, “There’s no way you can make this and be proud of it.” Another commented on the storyline, saying, “HUM TV used to produce masterpieces like Yakeen Ka Safar and Parizaad. Now it’s mostly illogical jinn dramas with weak VFX.”
Some fans defended the show’s technical work. They said the VFX reflects budget constraints. “For the resources available to HUM TV, this is quite good,” one fan said. Others, however, criticized overacting and said the episode was cringe-worthy.
The direction and cinematography received praise from several viewers. “Everything is perfect – direction, cinematography, VFX. Kudos to the team and Saife sir,” one viewer wrote.
Several users also pointed out similarities with Indian supernatural dramas. “Pakistani dramas are starting to resemble Indian Naagin shows,” one viewer said. Others agreed, noting a shift in style and storytelling.
As Pakistani dramas experiment with new genres and visual effects, audiences continue to voice their opinions. The debate reflects both excitement for innovation and concern about execution.
