Asia cup 2025 trophy controversy: India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of Asia Cup 2025. Now if India won the final, then the trophy should also have been received. But this did not happen. Mohsin Naqvi, Chief of the Asian Cricket Council i.e. ACC, went to his hotel with the medal of the Indian players and the Asia Cup trophy. This was discovered when BCCI revealed the statement of Secretary Devjit Psychia. He said that if the Indian team does not want to take the trophy with their hands, then it does not mean that they should take it to their hotel. Their doing so is against the spirit of the game.
Mohsin Naqvi was present on the stage during the presentation ceremony of the Asia Cup final. But BCCI refused to take the trophy from them. BCCI was ready to take the trophy from the Vice Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board in his place. Unhappy with this, Naqvi went to his hotel with the Asia Cup trophy and Team India medal. According to the report, he said that there is no need to give the trophy to the Indian team.
This stand of ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is now in the mood for BCCI action. But, before that, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia narrated the brunt and told why the Indian team refused to take the trophy from Naqvi? According to Devjit Psychia, India is fighting a war with the country from which the chairman of ACC comes. And, we cannot take a trophy from the representative of the country where there has been a war with our country. This was the reason that we refused to take the trophy.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Psychia further said that we refused to take the trophy, but it does not mean that he will take it to his hotel. His attitude is out of tolerance. Return its trophy to India as soon as possible. At the moment we are seeking this.
