The Uttar Pradesh government has made a big change in the rules of recruitment of deceased dependents of government servants. Now the deceased dependents will get the same job that their families were working in the group. That is, if a government employee leaves the world during his service, then his family member will be given a job in the same group, not a high position. This new rule has been issued by the Department of Personnel on Tuesday. Let us understand this change in detail.
Under earlier rules, if the educational qualification of the deceased dependent was suitable for a high position, he could get a job in a high position. For example, if an employee was working in the lower group, but his dependent had more qualifications, he would get an appointment in a high group. But now this system has been completely changed.
The revised manual issued by M. Devraj, Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel, has made it clear that now the deceased dependents will get a job in the same group in which the dead staff was working. However, it also has some exceptions. Dependents will not be appointed to the posts under the purview of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). That is, now only dependents will be able to get jobs on the posts of Group ‘C’ and ‘D’.
According to the new rules, the posts of Group ‘C’ will not be appointed to the deceased dependents who were earlier under the purview of UPPSC and now fall under the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC). This means that job options for deceased dependents are now limited compared to before.
Due to this change, the deceased dependents will not have flexibility in the process of getting jobs as before. Earlier, where there was a possibility of getting high positions on the basis of their merit, now he will get a job in the same group in which his family was working. This step of the government is being seen towards making the rules more transparent, but many people are also considering it as limiting opportunities for the deceased dependents.
