YouTube Settlement: Google Owned video streaming company YouTube Has finally resolved the long -standing dispute with former US President Donald Trump. The company has agreed to pay about Rs 217 crore ($ 24.5 million) to Trump in this case. The agreement will end the controversy that began in January 2021, when Trump’s official channel was discontinued after the Capital Hill Violence.
When there was violence on Capital Hill in January 2021, YouTube alleged that Trump’s videos were violating his policies. On this basis, the company suspended his channel and also stopped the comment section. At that time, Trump had around 27 million subscribers and he was continuously sharing videos. Trump alleged that YouTube is politically biased and wants to suppress the voice of Conservatives. Trump then approached the court.
Trump’s lawyers argued in the court that YouTube did not say which video was violating the rules. Due to this, the matter turned into a legal battle. Now this dispute will end after the satisfaction. This news came at a time when YouTube recently announced that the banned channels during the Kovid-19 epidemic and Capital Hill violence will be lifted.
This is not the first time a tech company has compromised with Trump. After her re -President, many companies, including X (East Twitter) and Meta (original company of Facebook), have reconciled them to settle the cases.
With this agreement, the dispute between Trump and YouTube has ended. This case once again shows how complicated the relationship between social media companies and political personalities can be.
