On returning the mobile, people thanked the police and described it as an important step of confidence restoration.

The DCP credited this success to the cyber cell team. He said that Cyber ​​Cell in -charge Inspector Nirmal Singh, Sub Inspector Ramu Swamy and constable Rajneesh together traced the mobile phone and played an important role in reaching the right owners. District Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, City Magistrate Jagriti, ACP Dinesh Kumar and mobile holders were also present on the occasion.

How to use CEIR portal

If your mobile phone is stolen, there is no need to panic. The CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal operated by the Government of India provides an impressive online platform to help you. This system helps block and track lost or stolen mobile phones.

First of all, go to your nearest police station and file a report of losing mobile and keep a copy of the FIR with you. Next, you can file a complaint by going to Ceir.gov.in. Select the option of “Block Your Lost/Stolen Mobile” on the portal.

Then a form will open, in which you have to fill information like your mobile number, IMEI number, mobile brand and model, date and location, FIR number, and identity cards. Along with this, documents like purchase receipt and copy of FIR will also have to be uploaded. After filling all the information, submit the form. After submitting, you will get a Request ID, so that you can track your application status online.
