Renowned actor Gagan Dev Riar known for his nuanced performances and grounded screen presence has steadily carved a space for himself in the industry with roles that leave a lasting impact. After earning critical acclaim for his portrayal of Abdul Karim Telgi in Scam 2003 Gagan is set to return in a new avatar with the upcoming web series 13th: Some Lessons Aren’t Taught In Classrooms helmed by Nishil Sheth. In this emotionally layered drama he steps into the role of Mohit Tyagi Sir a teacher whose influence goes far beyond the classroom exploring the deeper bonds between mentor and student. The series also features actor-singer Paresh Pahuja who is portraying the role of a student named Ritesh which is all set to stream from October 1 on Sony LIV in Hindi Tamil Telugu Marathi and Malayalam languages. Gagan Dev Riar on his role of MT Sir in 13th During an interview with India.com alongside Paresh Pahuja Gagan Dev Riar was asked about his preparation and approach for playing the role of Mohit Sir in the series which is said to be inspired by his life. Gagan responded by saying Main ye batana chaunga ki ye unki life se inspired nahi hai haan ye hai ki jo unka character hai iss kahani mein jaise kehte hai naa ki aapne ek background liya hua hai jaise World War 2 mein bahut saari kahaniyaan hui hain toh ye iss jagat ki ek kahani hai jisme Mohit Tyagi ka jo character hai wo actually mein real life character hai jo main iss series mein aapko play karte hue dikhayi dunga but ye unki life se koi inspired kahani nahin hai balki kuch aur hai. (I would like to tell you that this is not inspired from his life yes his character in this story as it is said that you have taken a background like there have been many stories in World War 2 so this is a story of this world in which the character of Mohit Tyagi is actually a real life character which I will show you playing in this series but this is not a story inspired from his life rather it is something else.) Gagan Dev Riar on what 13th is about Gagan continued and said Ye kahani ek student aur teacher ke relationship ke baare mein hai ye kahani guru-shishya parampara like hum jo zindagi mein seekhte hai wo kaise seekhte hai kahan-kahan seekhna bandh ho jata hai kahan seekhna shuru ho jata hai inn cheezon ke baare mein hai which is not about just one person its more of an idea. Mohit Tyagi ka kirdaar ek maadhyam hai jo ki bahut strong maadhyam hai jo ye seekh dete hai ki zindagi mein kisi nayi cheez ki shuruaat karne mein kabhi der nahin hoti. Aap zindagi mein jab bhi shuruaat karna chahe aap kar sakte hain. I think that is the bigger which this series is trying to portray. (This story is about the relationship between a student and a teacher. This story is about the Guru-Shishya tradition like what we learn in life how we learn where the learning stops where the learning starts these things are about it which is not just about one person its more of an idea. Mohit Tyagis character is a medium a very strong medium who teaches that there is never a fear in starting something new in life. Whenever you want to start in life you can do it. I think that is the bigger thing that this series is trying to portray.) Paresh Pahuja on his creative process blending acting and music While moving ahead when Paresh was asked about his creative process and how does music influences his range in acting Paresh said Mujhe lagta hai ki saari cheezein extension hai ek duusre ka ye jo creativity hai ek outlet hai music bhi waise hi ek outlet hai acting writing sb ek outlet hai aur acting mein music use hota hai you cant make a film without music and sangeet mein bhi abhinay ka important role hota hai so both go together. Isliye main toh dono hi kar raha hoon aur isme mujhe equally maza bhi aa raha hai saare ras main use kar raha hoon and I will not limit myself to only these two in future Ill explore more even writing even painting may be sculpting also because ek hi life hai mujhe har ek kirdaar jeena hai isme. (I feel that all things are extensions of each other this creativity is an outlet music is also an outlet acting writing all are outlets and music is used in acting you cannot make a film without music and acting plays an important role in music too so both go together. That is why I am doing both and I am enjoying it equally I am using them all the time and I will not limit myself to only these two in future I will explore more even writing even painting may be sculpting also because there is only one life I have to live every role in it.)
