On Tuesday, Union Minister Chirag Paswan retaliated against Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), regarding his "copycat" comment aimed at the Bihar government led by Nitish Kumar. Paswan asserted that the opposition is anxious and engaging in political maneuvers ahead of the upcoming elections. Previously, Yadav had criticized the state government, labeling it as a "copycat" administration and accusing it of lacking a solid vision for Bihar.
In response to Yadav's remarks, Paswan stated that such comments reflect the divisive politics of the opposition and their electoral desperation. Speaking to reporters in Patna, he emphasized that he does not categorize any Bihari into groups; they are all his people. He stated, "I prioritize Bihar and Biharis... The opposition attempts to create divisions to build their voter base."
Paswan further highlighted that both the NDA government at the center, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the state government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have implemented numerous welfare schemes that the opposition had only promised in the past. He remarked that the opposition is in a state of panic. "My Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have announced and executed plans that the opposition merely promised... Our government is transferring ₹10,000 into women's accounts, aiming to empower them... These initiatives strengthen the poor, women, and families... The opposition never imagined such programs could be initiated," he added.
Regarding the Special Summary Revision (SSR) report, Paswan mentioned that it is expected to be released soon, and the Election Commission of India (ECI) will be fully accountable for it. He stated, "It was anticipated that the report would be released, and now we will see how much politics the opposition can play on this... If something positive occurs or if there are complaints, the Election Commission will be entirely responsible..." Commenting on allegations made by Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj, Paswan noted that such claims fall within the scope of investigation and should be examined.
