Carrying pets on flights has been a complex issue. While carrying one pet used to be easy, carrying two was not permitted. Now, two pets are permitted in the cabin on Akasa Air flights. The airline has made several changes to its pet travel service, "Pets on Akasa," to provide better convenience to passengers and their pets.

Bookings can be made 24 hours in advance.
According to information, until now, only one pet was allowed. However, this change has been made. This change was made in response to increasing passenger demand and reflects the airline's commitment to providing a quality and inclusive travel experience to all passengers.

The airline stated that bookings can now be made up to 24 hours before the flight, compared to the previous 48-hour limit. This feature offered by Akasa Air has received an overwhelming response from passengers. Since its launch, more than 8,500 pets have availed of this service.

Many on-board amenities for pets
The airline is constantly listening to passenger feedback and has made several changes recently. In May 2024, the company made two significant changes: first, the maximum weight of pets carried in the cabin was increased to 10 kilograms (including containers), and the validity of pet travel certificates was extended to 15 days.

Service Available in 24 Cities
According to information, the airline launched the 'Pets on Akasa' service in November 2022 and is now available in 24 domestic cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Sri Vijayapuram, Guwahati, Goa, Kochi, Pune, Bhubaneswar, Gwalior, Prayagraj, Srinagar, Bagdogra, Kozhikode, Darbhanga, Agartala, and others.
