WhatsApp is set to launch an Incognito Mode for its Meta AI chatbot, offering users enhanced privacy by allowing them to have confidential conversations without their query history being saved or personalized. This upcoming feature, first spotted in the Android beta version 2.25.28.1, will function similarly to Google Chrome’s Incognito Mode or Safari’s Private Browsing, ensuring chat data is not recorded or used for training the AI models.

When Incognito Mode is enabled, any questions or conversations initiated with Meta AI will be automatically deleted upon closing the chat window, making it safe to discuss sensitive topics without leaving a trace. Users will receive a prompt warning that no personalization, history, or memory will be available for future interactions, reflecting a complete reset at the start of each chat session.

The toggle to activate Incognito Mode will be integrated within the Meta AI chat options, giving users complete control over their privacy during AI conversations. In addition to this feature, WhatsApp is also testing a voice chat mode for two-way interactive conversations with Meta AI to offer a more natural, hands-free user experience.

Though still under development and unavailable to regular users, this privacy-focused upgrade marks WhatsApp’s ongoing commitment to protecting user data while expanding its AI-driven features. The Incognito Mode is anticipated to roll out widely in upcoming app updates, providing users with a secure, private dialogue environment with WhatsApp’s AI assistant.
